Suffering a career-ending, potentially crippling injury to her back and right leg, a young dancer named Elaine Petrone tried everyone from orthopedists to yogis to turn her pain and prognosis around. Nothing worked-until she healed herself through a unique program of therapy and exercise based around the use of two small, squishy balls. From there she turned her passion into a mission that is helping the thousands of people who visit her classes conquer pain, stress, and injury.
Now, for relief for sufferers everywhere, comes The Miracle Ball Method, a healing kit containing two miracle balls and a fully illustrated book, all packaged together in an attention-getting clear plastic cylinder. The work itself is simple. Take a sore back: By resting your aching back on the grapefruit-sized balls and letting your body sink into them, you're unworking the muscles that hurt. Pain and tension drain out of the body. Petrone shows how proper breathing (which she demonstrates) works in conjunction with a range of unexercises that call for placing the balls under the back, head, knees, hip, elbow-wherever there's pain-and then resting, rolling, or rotating on them. She points out that relief can come in surprising ways: Lower back pain may be helped by placing the ball under your neck, or a bad knee might be helped by hip work. It's a revolutionary program of relief, from head to toe.
Release back tension and ease pain 5 out of 5
The Miracle Ball method really works. That's all I have to say. It's very helpful for back pain. It actually eases the tension in your muscles. You need to find the time to do the exercises, but they really, really work. It's a miracle!! Even my chiropractor concurs. I highly recommend this product and I will continue to recommend it to anyone who has back problems. What a relief! 5 out of 5
I went looking for help to ease the pain of my frozen shoulder. Having used small juggling balls in the past to relieve painful overtight muscles in my hips and surrounding area (against the wall or door, putting pressure on the knotted up painful bits. It works! Changed my life, I can walk without pain again :) !! ) I was pretty sure that this method had some possibility.
I tried out the excersizes that I could manage but was pretty dismayed when I saw that some of the routines to alleviate frozen shoulders were completely beyond my ability because I had almost no rotation left in my left arm.
What really suprised me though was that after doing 'ribs on the ball', 'neck on the ball' and 'between the shoulders on the ball', I had my first night's sleep in months without waking up crying out and panting in pain. This looks really exagerated even as I write it, but my husband could tell you it was so bad that even he had trouble sleeping. I had reached the stage where I needed help sometimes to get dressed and couldn't lift my arm higher than my waist. Six months before, I had been doing yoga, so it was a big shock to get so bad, so fast. This method has really eased me back into more mobility and it's a HUGE relief.
I find that the fact that these movements (or rather 'lack' of movements) take so little time to do, and are so relaxing that they become quite addictive. I plug into my i-Pod and I feel like it all ends too soon.
I don't know if it will cure my frozen shoulder ( I have just bought The Frozen Shoulder Workbook by Clair Davies through Amazon and it takes the treatment of this problem a whole lot further) but I'm certain that it would prevent it from coming back or deteriorating any further.
This is a brilliant method for people with low motivation (suffering from depression? I'm certain that this will help and it's an achievable, small step without having to leave the house) or limited ablilty. I know that I will get back on the balls even when I'm finally back at yoga because it is so relaxing and will, I'm certain be a great preventative measure from sliding back into immobility. Unbelieveable 5 out of 5
Too simple. Too easy. It took me 6 months to get around to reading the book, but I sat on the balls for a 50 mile trip the day our kids gave me the set for Christmas. It felt good. I often need to cross my legs while riding in the car, but sitting on the balls was comfortable and I liked it. I found it helped me sit up straight, too.
After that I shared them with my husband who has back soreness & knee problems. He has not read the book, but takes the balls to bed with him several nights a week. He does not boast their effectiveness, but he keeps using them most nights. He places them under his buttocks and says it relaxes him and helps him sleep.
Now I have gifted several sets to others while on a trip across the country and am awaiting their casual responses. One woman who has pace-maker in her stomach to help her sleep told me she puts the balls under her stomach and it seems to release her muscles. She has to sleep on the floor part of each night in order to get rested. I wish Elaine were in town as she could probably provide even more help for her.
It is a funny situation where folks realize help, but don't much want to flaunt such a simple solution. I am tickled to be able to share such a secret. Definately worth a try! Don't be surprised to be quietly surprised. :) Balls are a miracle 5 out of 5
These ball have helped both my husband and me with sciatic pain which had bothered us for months. Just ten minutes a day on the balls, and we are both pain free. Waste of money....provided no relief 1 out of 5
Based on all the favorable reviews, I thought these would indeed be miraculous. Alas, they did nothing for me....I was so sad. I needed something that would get the trigger points out of me, as a long distance runner.....I found the TriggerPoint Massage Baller which is awesome and better than a tennis ball (even though it looks like one).
